The Eskdale Inn, which changed it's name in the 1980's from The Station Hotel continues to offer a warm friendly welcome to all visitors.

Built in the approximatly 1850 and named the station hotel and was built to serve the community at caselton station which was the end of the line until early 1865 when the line was extended to grosmont to join the whitby and pickering line.

Since then it has been a favorite of the local hunting comunity and was for many years and encorperated only one small bar with a number of letting rooms.

The present cellar was once the kitchen and living room. The upstairs which is the current accomodation, used to be a restaurant for sunday dinners.

The Inn was altered in the late 1800's and then later in the mid 1900's to meet the changing needs of its customers, and provide a service for the growing silica sand mining and farming community's, and also the rapid growth of tourism in the area.
